IELTS Complete Speaking Test

The Speaking section lasts approximately 11 to 14 minutes. It is divided into three parts and is conducted by a single examiner.

In Part 1, the examiner will ask you general questions about yourself and a range of familiar topics. This part lasts about 4–5 minutes.

In Part 2, you will be given a card with a topic. You will have 1 minute to prepare and then speak for 1 to 2 minutes about it.

In Part 3, the examiner will ask further questions related to the topic in Part 2. This part lasts about 4–5 minutes.

This test requires microphone access. After each question, recording begins automatically when the examiner finishes speaking. Click Stop recording when you have finished answering, or your response will be saved automatically after 7 seconds of silence.

The test will start when you select the Begin button.
